KOTA BHARU, March 17 (Bernama) -- Air Kelantan Sdn. Bhd (AKSB) is providing 11 tanker trucks and 14 contract water trucks to supply clean water to areas affected by water supply disruption during the Aidilfitri festive season this year.

AKSB, in a statement today, said the move is part of a comprehensive preparedness plan involving all districts to optimise clean water distribution throughout the festive period.

“Current water production across all water treatment plants stands at 531 million litres per day (MLD), while projected demand during the festive season is expected to rise to 584 MLD.

“The peak usage period is anticipated between March 20 and 23,” the statement said.

AKSB added that 43 Water Treatment Plants (LRA) are currently operating statewide, supplying water to 269,338 consumer accounts.

To further strengthen response efforts, AKSB has mobilised 14 pipe leak repair teams, 12 contractor repair teams, and a central operations team led by district managers.

AKSB also announced that its complaint hotline, PINTAS (15777), will operate from 8 am to 10 pm between March 19 and 23 to handle public inquiries and reports.

The initiative aims to minimise disruptions and ensure a stable water supply for residents throughout the festive season.
