22/03/2026 06:44 PM

TEMERLOH, March 22 (Bernama) – The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, said it is not easy to shoulder the responsibilities of a ruler in the state, especially during festive seasons which require leaders to remain close to the people even during holidays.

Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed pride at visitor turnout at the Istana Open House and the Pahang Menteri Besar’s Aidilfitri Open House, which numbered in the thousands, and said it served as motivation to continue working and serving the rakyat.

“Although Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a public holiday, we still need to work, meet the people, exchange greetings and seek forgiveness,” His Royal Highness said at the Aidilfitri Open House hosted by Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, in Lanchang today.

Also in attendance was the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, along with members of the royal family including the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.

At the same time, Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed appreciation to Wan Rosdy for organising the event, as well as to all catering providers who prepared food for visitors.

“I feel proud to be here in Lanchang and to witness the strengthening of bonds among the community as people gather and enjoy the food together, especially with the Cendol Lily served - it has been a long time since I last tasted it,” the Sultan said.

He also stressed the importance of providing economic opportunities and employment for the people, and prayed that the state of Pahang continues to be protected by Allah SWT and achieves sustained development and prosperity.

In addition, Al-Sultan Abdullah called on the public to pray for an end to the conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, as its impact is being felt by communities around the world.
