KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) -- The Department of Museums Malaysia recorded a strong performance last year, with 22 museums under its management attracting nearly 2.5 million visitors, surpassing the 2.2 million target.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said on X, the museums drew 2,457,051 visitors in 2025, including 355,585 international visitors.

He said this year’s programme will be livelier, with three main segments: Citra Nusa @ Muzium, Fiesta Uniti @ Muzium, and Muzium Bersama Komuniti.

“The Ministry of National Unity is committed to making museums dynamic, inclusive spaces of learning relevant to today’s generation. This includes modernising exhibits, incorporating interactive technology, and offering high-impact programmes to keep museums at the heart of lifelong learning,” he said.

Aaron said the ministry is also focusing on revitalising museums as a platform for uniting Malaysia’s diverse communities.

“Through community engagement and strategic collaboration, museums will continue to serve as spaces that bridge divides, promote understanding, and foster national unity. They are at the heart of the nation’s identity, cohesion, and future,” he said.
