KUANTAN, March 31 (Bernama) -- Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah today graced the Santunan Kasih Programme at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) here.
Accompanying Tunku Azizah, who is also IIUM Constitutional Head, was Tengku Panglima Raja Brigadier General Tengku Amir Naseer Ibrahim Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah.
Her Royal Highness were greeted on arrival by IIUM President Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain.
At the event, Tunku Azizah also presented financial aid to 120 asnaf students and incentives to IIUM student-athletes who brought honour to the university and the country with their medal achievements at the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games in 2025.
Meanwhile, in her speech, Tunku Azizah said this programme is a living expression of IIUM's commitment to the ummah.
Her Royal Highness said the asnaf students receive support through the IIUM Kuantan Khairat Fund and are assisted through the IIUM Endowment Fund (IEF).
“A young person's poverty shall not determine the limits of their future...you are not forgotten, this community stands firmly behind you.
“Use this support as a launching pad, study with dedication, serve with gratitude, and one day reach back to help those in need,” she said.
Tunku Azizah also congratulates the athletes for their outstanding achievements and the pride they have brought to IIUM and Malaysia.
