KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake measuring 7.7 magnitude struck the North Molucca Sea, Indonesia at 6.48 am today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a Facebook post, MetMalaysia said the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres (km), about 128 km from Bitung.
However, it said there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
“MetMalaysia is monitoring the situation,” it said.
