KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia's key index extended its gains in mid-afternoon trading, supported by persistent buying in selected heavyweights, led by financial stocks.
At 3.03 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 9.54 points to 1,621.28 from Tuesday’s close of 1,611.74. The benchmark index opened 4.39 points higher at 1,616.13.
Meanwhile, market breadth is negative with decliners outpacing gainers 601 to 452, while 509 stocks were unchanged, 1,239 untraded and 82 suspended.
Turnover stood at 2.81 billion units worth RM1.74 billion.
Among heavyweights, Maybank was flat at RM9.98, Public Bank garnered six sen to RM4.36, CIMB added eight sen to RM7.55, Tenaga Nasional unchanged at RM13.10, and IHH rose four sen to RM8.08.
On the most active list, Aizo fell 2.5 sen to 4.5 sen, D&O Green Tech tumbled 21 sen to 88 sen, TWL and Malayan United Industries were unchanged at 2.5 sen and 5.5 sen respectively, while Tanco added one sen to RM1.09.
Of the top gainers, Hong Leong Industries rose 60 sen to RM14.94, Allianz added 46 sen to RM18.54, BLD Plantation climbed 42 sen to RM14.98, Telekom Malaysia garnered 22 sen to RM7.56, and Petronas Dagangan put on 18 sen to RM20.80.
Among the top losers, KL Kepong lost 44 sen to RM20.60, Kelington slipped 16 sen to RM5.24, Malaysian Pacific Industries fell 24 sen to RM32.80, Solarvest declined 13 sen to RM3.03, and DRB-Hicom shed 12 sen to RM1.18.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index gained 39.25 points to 12,025.60, the FBM Emas Shariah Index added 20.71 points to 11,986.23, and the FBMT 100 Index advanced 53.37 points to 11,809.80.
The FBM ACE Index slid 35.27 points to 4,889.77 while the FBM Mid 70 Index went up 6.30 points to 16,953.10.
Sector-wise, the Financial Services Index jumped 128.32 points to 18,597.32, the Industrial Products & Services Index edged up 0.81 of-a-point to 164.36, while the Plantation Index shrank 63.13 points to 8,169.09 and the Energy Index eased 4.43 points to 755.89.
