KUALA KRAI, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department, through the Kelantan Federal Development Office, has successfully conducted 62 skills training programmes benefiting 1,157 heads of households (KIR) to date.
Its director Jasri Kasim said 242 participants have been equipped with essential tools and supplies to help them generate additional income, marking significant progress in the effort to eradicate hardcore poverty.
“The training programmes include skills such as burger-making, fried chicken preparation, coffee production, tailoring, and hairdressing,” he said.
“We remain committed to serving as the vital link between government agencies and the people to ensure their welfare is prioritised,” he told Bernama during the eKasih @ Kuala Krai tour programme here today.
Jasri added that under the Kayuhan MADANI event, an outreach initiative held across eight locations, 20 households have received assistance to build new Kasih Ihsan homes, while 10 others have benefited from home repair aid.
This year, the federal government, through ICU JPM, has allocated RM15.4 million to support housing projects aimed at eliminating hardcore poverty in Kelantan.
The allocation includes RM9.6 million for building 120 new homes and RM5.8 million for repairing 240 houses.
