GEORGE TOWN, Jan 1 (Bernama) -- Sarawak Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, arrived in Penang today for an official visit and holiday.
According to Wan Junaidi's official Facebook page, their arrival was warmly welcomed at 12.55 pm by Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, Deputy Chief Minister 1 Datuk Dr Mohamad Abdul Hamid, and senior Penang government officials at the Penang International Airport in Bayan Lepas.
“During this visit, Tun and Toh Puan are scheduled to participate in a range of official and leisure activities, including visits to several iconic tourist destinations in Penang,” the post said.
It also highlighted that the Sarawak Governor expressed his gratitude to Chow and the Penang government for the warm welcome and excellent hospitality extended to him and his entourage.
Later, Wan Junaidi and his family, accompanied by their entourage, proceeded to a nasi kandar restaurant, renowned as one of the island’s iconic culinary destinations. He described the visit as an opportunity to immerse themselves in Penang’s rich culture and culinary uniqueness.
Meanwhile, Chow expressed his hope that the three-day visit would further strengthen the ties and friendships already established between Sarawak and Penang.
