ISLAMABAD, Jan 13 (Bernama-UNA) -- The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) and the Muslim World League (MWL) signed a memorandum of cooperation on Sunday, aiming to launch a media campaign to raise awareness about girls’ rights to education, reported UNA.

The memorandum also aims, among other things, to coordinate efforts between the two parties in strengthening joint action between news agencies and media outlets in Muslim countries on the issue.

The signing ceremony took place during the global conference themed "Girls' Education in Muslim Communities: Challenges and Opportunities" organised by the Pakistani government and coordinated by the MWL in Islamabad, with participation from regional and international organisations.

The UNA was represented by its director-general Mohammed Abd Rabbo Al-Yami, while the MWL was represented by Counsellor Abdul Karim Bakhsh.

The memorandum is part of the international partnership platform launched by the "Girls' Education in Muslim Communities" conference, aiming to transform the conference's outcomes into practical initiatives and concrete projects to support women and girls' education.
