IPOH, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- A total of 200 residents will benefit from the affordable home ownership programme under the ‘Rumah Ibu Scheme’ at the Rancangan Perkampungan Tersusun (RPT) Bukit Kinding, Tanjung Rambutan here.
Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin, senior political secretary to the Prime Minister, said the newly introduced scheme offers eight different house models, with prices ranging from RM75,000 to RM278,000 per unit.
"This project is developed on land granted by the state government to the residents involved, making it a more secure housing initiative.
"They can choose their payment method, whether in cash, housing loan, or a rent-to-own scheme," he told a press conference after representing Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in launching the Rumah Ibu Scheme here today.
The private sector initiative supported by the government is aimed at providing opportunities for the public to own affordable homes with support service facilities tailored to their needs.
He said the initiative deserves praise, as it contributes to the government’s efforts in providing affordable housing for the people.
Meanwhile, Shamsul Iskandar said he would bring up the proposal to introduce a MADANI pricing framework for construction materials to help lower costs in the development of affordable housing by property developers.
