KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 12 (Bernama) -- Egypt has expressed its intention to present an integrated vision for the reconstruction of Gaza to ensure the permanence of the Palestinian people on their land.
In a statement on Tuesday, its Foreign Ministry said that Egypt affirmed its aspiration to cooperate with the United States (US) administration led by President Donald Trump to reach a comprehensive and just peace in the region.
It said that the Arab Republic emphasised the need for a just settlement of the Palestinian issue that respects the rights of the peoples of the region.
Egypt stressed that its reconstruction plan would align with the legitimate and legal rights of the Palestinian people.
The statement also highlighted the importance of avoiding actions that could endanger the gains of peace while addressing the root causes of the conflict.
Furthermore, Egypt reiterated its stance on ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and reaffirmed its support for the two-state solution as the only viable path to stability and coexistence in the region.
