TANJONG MALIM, Feb 14 (Bernama) -- The Islamic Propagation Foundation of Malaysia (YADIM), in collaboration with the Perak chapter of the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) provided school essentials worth RM87,500 to some 500 students in the Behrang area today.
Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan said the ‘Sentuhan Kasih MADANI Jom Ke Sekolah 2025’ programme was also supported and sponsored by Yayasan Taqwa-Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP).
He said the initiative reflects the MADANI government's commitment to assisting those in need, particularly low-income (B40) families.
“This incentive aims to help students purchase school essentials such as uniforms, shoes and bags based on their individual needs.
“A total of 500 primary and secondary school students in Behrang received school supplies worth RM175 each, with an overall allocation of RM87,500,” he told a press conference after officiating the programme at the Sultan Azlan Shah Polytechnic (PSAS) here.
Zulkifli hoped that the assistance would motivate students to embrace the new school year with enthusiasm, just like their peers.
“We hope this contribution will inspire students to attend school regularly and encourage them to study hard to achieve outstanding results.
“Following previous stops in Temerloh, Kuala Pilah and Batang Kali, and now Behrang, the programme will continue in Port Dickson. We aim to complete all distributions before the 2025 school session begins this Monday,” he said.
The initiative is part of Zulkifli’s Ziarah MADANI roadshow and ‘Jom Kembali ke Sekolah’ (Back to School) programme, which covers multiple states, including Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Perak and Selangor.
He said this aid serves as an additional bonus for recipient families, complementing the Early School Aid (BAP) distributed in January.
