SUNGAI PETANI, Feb 16 (Bernama) -- The success of the MADANI Village Adoption project reflects the government's commitment and dedication to contributing to the improvement of the quality of life for the community, said Attorney-General Datuk Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar.

He said the Attorney-General Chambers (AGC) adopted Kampung Jilid Lapan dan Rangkaian here to support the government’s aspiration.

“With an allocation of RM2.5 million, various physical projects have been implemented in this village including the paving of village roads, installing solar lights, repairing cemetery fences, upgrading KAFA school library, building a fishing jetty, upgrading the football field and providing an ATM machine at the village mosque,” he said.

He said this during the handover ceremony of the MADANI AGC Adopted Village Public Infrastructure at Masjid At Tahir, Kampung Sungai Gelam, Mukim Bujang, here today.

Mohd Dusuki said the project has a significant impact and provides great benefits to the community and can improve the quality of life of the residents.

He said that the improvement of the village’s infrastructure can elevate the residents’ socioeconomic status, provide opportunities, and allow the community to experience continued prosperity.

"We appreciate the cooperation and support from all parties, including the state government, the community, community leaders, and department heads, and hope that such collaboration can continue to create a more conducive environment for the villagers," he said.

Meanwhile, Masjid At Tahir deputy chairman Azizan Othman conveyed appreciation to the MADANI government for initiating the programme.

"Thank you to the AGC for providing so much assistance to our village. Previously, if we wanted to withdraw money, we had to go to the town about three kilometers away, and sometimes the ATM machine was broken because so many people were using it,” he said, adding that the new jetty would facilitate the village’s more than 50 fishermen.
