PAHANG FISHERMEN CONTINUE TO RECEIVE PM’S ATTENTION, ASSISTANCE

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- The struggles of fishermen in Pahang have not gone unnoticed, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extending assistance to those in need.

Among them is 61-year-old Mohammad Kasim, who has been unable to go to sea for months due to rough conditions.

Financial aid was presented to him by Prime Minister’s political secretary Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, who recently visited his home in Kampung Baru Cherating, Kuantan.

“The sea that once his source of income seems to have closed its doors, causing his income to decline drastically.

“However, I came to bring a ray of hope. With support from the Pahang Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU), we will repair his home to ensure he and his family can live more comfortably,” Ahmad Farhan said in a post on Facebook, which was also shared by Anwar.

He hoped the assistance would ease Mohammad’s burden and help him and his family move forward.

Yesterday, Ahmad Farhan also delivered cash aid to fisherman Supian Saman, 39, in Kampung Darat Sungai Ular, Cherating, during a visit under the Ziarah MADANI programme.

He said Supian’s dilapidated home, which has deteriorating walls and a leaking roof, will also be repaired with the help of Pahang ICU to provide a safer and more livable space for his family.
