MOSCOW, March 4 (Bernama-TASS) -- In response to Japan's sanctions policy, Russia has barred nine Japanese citizens from entering its territory, including Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, Russian news agency (TASS) reported, citing Russia’s Foreign Ministry.
“As part of response to the ongoing so-called policy of sanctions, conducted by Tokyo against our country in connection with the special military operation, a decision was made to impose an open-ended ban to enter the Russian Federation [on certain individuals],” the ministry said.
The list of banned individuals also includes Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Masashi Nakagome, former Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Shohei Hara, and the head of JICA’s office in Ukraine, Hideki Matsunaga. Additionally, top executives from IHI Corporation, Isuzu Motors Limited, Prodrone, and Cyberdyne have been included in the entry ban.
