KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- National discus thrower Muhammad Irfan Shamsuddin kicked off his 2025 campaign with an impressive achievement, winning a silver medal at the Queensland Track and Field Championships in Australia yesterday.
Muhammad Irfan achieved his target when he recorded a throw of 60m.
However, the 29-year-old athlete’s mark fell short of his own national record of 62.55m, set in Linz, Austria, in 2017.
Great Britain’s Lawrence Okoye took gold with a throw of 67.10m, while the bronze medal went to Daniel Di Giandomenico of Mayne Harriers Club with a 52.76m effort.
The four-day championship ends on Sunday.
