KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 (Bernama) -- GE Vernova Inc announced that the Pulau Indah power plant, developed by Selangor state-linked company, Worldwide Holdings Bhd (WHB) has commenced operations.

The 1,200-megawatt (MW) facility is powered by GE Vernova’s High-Efficiency, Air-Cooled combined cycle equipment and is expected to generate enough electricity to power about 2.5 million Malaysian homes.

"Under the terms of a 21-year agreement, GE Vernova is expected to provide maintenance services and software solutions to improve asset visibility, reliability, and availability of the plant," GE Vernova said in a statement today.

GE Vernova’s Gas Power Asia president and chief executive officer, Ramesh Singaram noted that the company is uniquely qualified to support Malaysia’s energy transition, while helping meet the growing power demand in the country.

“We are proud to add this plant to the 116 units operating globally, that have amassed more than three million commercial operating hours," he said.
