YBR DISBURSES RM24,000 AID TO SEPANG NEEDY

KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) has disbursed RM24,000 in special aid in conjunction with Ramadan to 90 orphans, single mothers, and asnaf (tithe recipients)) in Sepang, Selangor. 

YBR chief executive officer Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani said the assistance reflected the foundation's concern for the less fortunate.

"YBR understands the challenges that many are facing and hopes this assistance will help those in need, bringing joy during Ramadan and aiding preparations for the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration," he said in a statement.

Syaiful Rizal handed over the contributions in the presence of YBR Corporate Communications Manager Mohamad Ghazali Zainal Abidin. The aid recipients were identified through Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Masjid Kuarters KLIA

He hoped the aid would provide some relief and help recipients recognise the blessings, significance and challenges of charity during Ramadan.

"Hopefully, more programmes like this can be organised to strengthen ties between external organisations and the community in Sepang.

"YBR prioritises aiding those in need, especially orphans, asnaf, and single mothers who often receive less attention from the public. YBR will continue to expand its aid initiatives," he added.

Syaiful Rizal also hopes YBR's contributions will inspire other organisations to support the underprivileged during growing economic challenges.

In 2024, YBR allocated nearly RM600,000 in aid for those in need, particularly from the B40 income group.
