KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) -- Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (Pernas) has reached out to 60 asnaf children and orphans from Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Al Ukhuwwah by providing duit raya and contributions to ease their burden in preparing for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
In a statement today, Pernas said the RM25,000 contribution was allocated from Zakat Wakalah funds as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative through the Sinar Ramadan: Iftar and CSR Programme 2025.
"The Sinar Ramadan CSR Programme reflects the company’s commitment to helping those in need as they prepare for the month of Syawal," it said.
Pernas acting chief executive officer Tengku Mohamed Fadhli Tengku Hamzah said in the same statement that the company remains committed to CSR programmes focusing on three key areas: entrepreneurship, education and community welfare.
In addition to the Sinar Ramadan CSR Programme, Pernas also carried out a 'Back to School' initiative in February, benefiting 400 students from the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency.
"Pernas has drawn up several CSR initiatives for this year, including programmes aligned with environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles," he added.
