PM ANWAR CONGRATULATES NEW DAP CEC TEAM

PUTRAJAYA, March 17 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated the newly elected Central Executive Committee (CEC) of DAP for the 2025-2028 term.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, hoped that the new leadership team would continue working effectively as a united front for the next three years.

“Congratulations, and keep up the work,” he said briefly to reporters after attending the Ihya’ Ramadan programme with staff of the Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) here today. 

Around 300 MOHE staff attended a Ramadan religious talk delivered by Associate Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), titled "Maqasid Al-Quran dan Masyarakat MADANI". The session was followed by Zohor prayers led by Mohd Izhar Ariff.

Also present were Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud and MOHE secretary-general Datuk Dr Anesee Ibrahim.

In the CEC election held yesterday, Seremban MP and Transport Minister Anthony Loke retained his position as secretary-general for the 2025-2028 term.

This marks Loke's second term in the role since taking over from Lim Guan Eng in 2022.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo was elected as the DAP chairman, replacing Lim, who is a former Penang Chief Minister.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming was elected as the deputy chairman while Kulai MP and Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching was chosen as a vice-chairman.
