ONE OF THE TOUGHEST RACES, JAZEMAN ON SEPANG 12 HRS

KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 (Bernama) -- Prominent Malaysian racer Jazeman Jaafar described his feat of winning the 12 Hours of Sepang 2025 held from March 13-15 at the Sepang International Circuit with 33R Harmony Racing as ‘one of the toughest race he has ever done’.

Jazeman crossed the finish line first in a "Garfield" Ferrari 296 GT3, completing 328 laps to secure the overall victory with the team's joint effort alongside Jason Loh, David Chen Weian and Luo Kailuo, therefore earned them the 2025 Sepang 12 Hours crown.

Despite the favourable grid spot, Malaysia’s sweltering heat and unpredictable weather—key factors throughout the event—tested their endurance and strategic precision.

"Still lost for words. One of the toughest races I’ve ever done. Chased from 3rd to the lead with just 15 minutes left.

“Nothing comes easy, but Alhamdulillah, with the right team, package, strong teammates and the unwavering support of my family and friends, this victory is truly emotional," Jazeman said in a statement.

The 12-hour battle began under clear skies at 10.15 a.m, with the No. 33 Ferrari starting from pole position.

In the final two hours, Jazeman delivered a blistering 2:05.915 seconds (s) fastest lap, overcoming a 25- second deficit by eliminating the gap with two seconds per lap.

A decisive pass at Turns 1-2 sealed the victory.

This win not only adds to 33R’s trophy cabinet but also continues Ferrari's Sepang legacy. The 328-lap record surpasses the previous mark set by the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 in 2014.

The 296 GT3's maiden Asia-Pacific endurance title marks a new chapter for Ferrari's new generation racing machine.
