KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama) -- Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has activated its technical and disaster preparedness teams following initial forecasts of flooding in several districts in Terengganu and Kelantan starting tonight.

TNB, in a statement, said electricity supply in affected areas may be temporarily cut off in the event of flooding to ensure the safety of residents.

“TNB has taken note of the early flood forecast as announced by the National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (PRABN).

“TNB prioritises consumer safety and will work closely with relevant agencies to monitor the situation and take appropriate action,” the statement said.

The utility company also advised the public to avoid flooded areas, be careful with electrical equipment and comply with the authorities’ instructions regarding evacuation and safety.

For further information or complaints regarding electricity supply, the public can contact TNB Careline at 15454; Private Message (PM) on Facebook TNB Careline; Direct Message (DM) to X @Tenaga_Nasional; or email to tnbcareline@tnb.com.my.
