KUCHING, March 24 (Bernama) -- Enhancing the technical capacity of implementing agencies is crucial to ensuring every government project in Sarawak runs more smoothly and effectively.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said continuous commitment from all parties is necessary to ensure Sarawak’s development agenda continues to progress for the well-being of the people.

“Our priority is to ensure that each project is not only completed on schedule but also provides long-term benefits to the people and the state’s progress,” he said in a Facebook post after co-chairing the Sarawak State Development Action Council (MTPNG) meeting with Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas here today.

He said the main focus of the meeting was on planning and implementing development projects in Sarawak, as well as discussing the current status of projects, including performance analysis, expenditure allocation and related issues within the framework of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).

Fadillah, who is also Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister, said the meeting serves as an essential platform for the early planning of 13MP for Sarawak, ensuring sustainable and inclusive development continuity.

He said major challenges such as funding constraints and project completion delays were also reviewed to devise more effective solutions, prioritising efficiency and high effectiveness.

“Therefore, various strategic approaches have been discussed to accelerate project implementation and ensure that their benefits reach the people of Sarawak.

“With the cooperation and commitment of all parties, I am confident that every development initiative in Sarawak can be realised more effectively,” he said.
