PERLIS RTD DEPLOYS 100 ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS IN 2025 HRA SPECIAL OPERATION

KANGAR, March 26 (Bernama) -- A total of 100 enforcement personnel from the Perlis Road Transport Department (RTD) are involved in the Hari Raya Aidilfitri (HRA) 2025 Special Operation which began on March 24 until April 8.

Perlis RTD director Noraini Mohd Nawi said her department is highly committed to ensuring the success of the operation by stressing that it will not compromise with any party found committing road traffic offences throughout the operation.

"In fact, Perlis RTD has also carried out inspections on express buses since March 17 at Bukit Lagi Bus Terminal, Kangar with the main focus on inspecting brake system, tyres and lights.

"...and other technical inspections involving safety aspects to reduce the risk of road accidents. To date, 87 buses have been inspected and no offences related to the technical aspects of the vehicles have been detected so far," she said at a press conference in conjunction with the state-level HRA 2025 special operation at Kilometre 4 of Jalan Changlun-Kuala Perlis near here today.

Noraini said Perlis RTD enforcement officers will also be stationed at the Perlis Sentral Bus Terminal in Kangar, which began full operations on March 24, for a similar exercise as in Bukit Lagi Bus Station.

Meanwhile, he said 313 summonses were issued for various offences on 2,319 vehicles inspected in a special operation in Perlis from March 24 to 6 pm today.

"This operation also involved various other enforcement agencies such as the Royal Malaysian Police and the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK)," she said.
