TERENGGANU KPDN HOLDS OVER 200 PJRM EVENTS IN THREE MONTHS

KUALA TERENGGANU, March 27 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has successfully organised 211 Rahmah MADANI Sales Programme (PJRM) events, from Jan 1 to March 22.

Its director Mufsi Lat said this included 90 PJRM events held on-premises, 120 mobile PJRM events, and one PJRM @ Market event, across all eight parliamentary constituencies.

A total of 200,693 people benefited from the programme, which aims to ease the cost of living burden for low-income groups.

“A total of RM8 million in sales was also recorded from the 211 PJRM events, involving three implementation models.

“For PJRM on-premises, the government provides a subsidy of RM30,000 per event, while for mobile PJRM, a subsidy of RM20,000 is allocated,” he said at the PJRM organised by the Welfare and Sports Association of Wisma Persekutuan Kuala Terengganu, here, today.

Meanwhile, Mufsi assured that KPDN has ensured an adequate supply of petrol and diesel at 164 petrol stations, statewide, to accommodate the anticipated surge of tens of thousands of vehicles ahead of Aidilfitri.

He added that all petrol stations would operate as usual, to serve both local residents and travellers.

“There are no concerns regarding fuel supply; it will be sufficient to accommodate returning travellers. Petrol stations will operate as usual, with adjustments made based on location,” he said.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) earlier estimated that between 70,000 and 80,000 vehicles would enter Terengganu from March 28 to 30.
