SINGAPORE, April 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Singaporean counterpart, Lawrence Wong, held discussions over the telephone on Friday regarding significant developments in the region, including the recent US tariffs.
The two leaders also discussed the humanitarian situation in Myanmar following the earthquake that struck the ASEAN country last week.
"Singapore will continue working closely with Malaysia and other ASEAN partners to deepen regional economic integration and engage constructively with our global trading partners," Wong posted on Facebook.
Wong, who is also the Finance Minister, said that in these uncertain times, it is more important than ever for Singapore, Malaysia, and other ASEAN neighbours to strengthen cooperation and solidarity.
Wong said he also conveyed his Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings to Anwar during the call.
"I look forward to further face-to-face discussions when we meet for the ASEAN Summit in KL next month," he added.
