BERNAMA MOTORHOME A GAME CHANGER IN SERVICE DELIVERY, CONTENT PRODUCTION - FAHMI 

KUALA LUMPUR, April 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama)-owned motorhome, equipped with mini-studio facilities, is set to drive a major transformation in the agency’s service delivery and content production, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

He said that not only can the vehicle function as a mobile news unit but also has the potential to be turned into a mobile podcast recording studio.

He added that the motorhome is one of Bernama's projects under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) that could strengthen external coverage operations and news production in a flexible manner.

"I see this as a game changer for Bernama, not only can it be used for field coverage as a mobile base, but also in terms of production.

"It can also become a mobile podcast studio. So, it has much potential. I hope that in conjunction with this year's National Day celebrations, we can display it in Putrajaya,” he told the media at Wisma Bernama here today.

Earlier, Fahmi had a first-hand look at the special vehicle, which is equipped with studio equipment, at Wisma Bernama.

Also present were Bernama chairman Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, Bernama chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin and Bernama editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj.

Bernama received the motorhome yesterday (April 14) as a new medium for broadcasting news content live from the location, Bernama TV and Bernama Radio programmes as well as major events.

Capable of broadcasting live with multi-camera production, the vehicle can also operate in critical areas without electricity such as disaster coverage and remote locations.

With the use of six cameras and modern editing equipment, the motorhome is capable of producing high-quality content not only for clients but also adds value to live news reporting from the site for Bernama's social media and broadcast platforms.

Costing RM1.2 million, the motorhome, which is capable of accommodating six staff at any one time, also has a mini studio space, workspace, toilet facilities and a dining area, besides being equipped with a 5G internet network and Starlink access.
