SEREMBAN, April 24 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan PKR Leadership Council chairman, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the re-election of the party's Jempol division chief will be held this week after the candidate who won the position recently was confirmed to still be a member of Pejuang.
The PKR vice-president said the matter was decided by the Central Leadership Council (MPP).
“This week, there will be an election for the Jempol division head only...when a detailed investigation was conducted, she is indeed a legal (Pejuang) member, we have to remove her for the sake of the party’s security.
“Right now, the party will evaluate all the division heads, if it happens elsewhere, we will make a similar decision,” he told reporters after attending the First Session (Opening) Ceremony of the Third Term of the 15th Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN) here today.
The Jempol division head election was won by Azizah Salim Shah with 450 votes, defeating the political secretary in the PKR president’s office, Manivanan Gowin who got 248 votes, Muhammad Asri Abdullah (83) and K. Mariappan (52).
