MOSCOW, April 27 (Bernama-TASS) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed Russia’s readiness to assist Iran in eliminating the aftermath of the deadly explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port, TASS news agency quoted the Kremlin on Saturday.
Putin also conveyed his condolences to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian over the loss of life and destruction caused by the blast.
"Please accept my deepest condolences over the loss of life and the massive destruction caused by the explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port.
“Please convey my sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to all those injured," Putin said in a Telegram published on the Kremlin website.
The explosion occurred on April 26 at Shahid Rajaee port in Bandar Abbas, located on the Persian Gulf.
According to the latest reports, 25 people were killed and nearly 1,400 others injured.
