KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, has expressed her wish to expand the Bangsa Johor Bahagia (BJB) Programme to the Taman Plentong Utama Flats in Masai, Johor in a bid to raise the quality of life of the community there.
The move is part of efforts to expand the BJB programme, which is the brainchild of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Raja Zarith Sofiah for community development in Johor.
"Plans for the BJB programme for the Taman Plentong Utama area will also inculcate elements of artificial technology (AI) in its activities,” according to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's Facebook page.
In this regard, in a bid to realise the goal, Her Majesty today granted an audience to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi at Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru.
Also present were state Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, Johor Bahru City Council Mayor Datuk Mohd Haffiz Ahmad, BJB project head Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Hisyam Rashidi and Yayasan Raja Zarith Sofiah Negeri Johor (YRZSN) chief executive officer Hishamudin Abd Rahim.
The BJB programme is a community project under the auspices of Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor and YRZSN in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
The BJB programme achieved several successes since the pilot community project was implemented at the Bandar Baru Kangkar Pulau Flats in 2019.
