KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 (Bernama) -- The best players from each state at the 2025 National Basketball Championships will be selected to form a team under the Malaysian Basketball Association (MABA) for next year's Agong's Cup.
Tournament chairman Mohd Haniff Ab Razak said the 29th national championships, being held at the MABA Stadium here, is the best platform for the national governing body to find new talent.
He added that for this year's edition, the organiser also introduced a 3x3 event to go with the 5x5 event held in previous editions.
"This year, we introduced the 3x3 event (from May 3-5), followed by the 5x5 event (from May 5-11).
"We introduced the 3x3 event to ensure continuity for the national team. Hopefully, through this effort, all states will start to provide exposure for this event,” he said when met yesterday.
In the inaugural edition of the 3x3 event, Negeri Sembilan emerged triumphant after defeating Johor 21-8 while Selangor came in third after downing Sabah.
