ALOR SETAR, May 8 (Bernama) – The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) will ramp up enforcement activities across Kedah, particularly in Langkawi, in conjunction with the upcoming Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2025 (LIMA’25), scheduled to take place from May 20 to 24.

KPDN Kedah director Muhammad Nizam Jamaludin said a total of 190 enforcement officers will be deployed to inspect business premises statewide.

“Enforcement efforts will focus on compliance with price tagging for goods and services, profiteering, availability of controlled goods, accuracy of weighing and measuring equipment, and halal-related matters.

“Targeted locations include restaurants and eateries, supermarkets and grocery stores, public markets, wet markets, morning markets and night markets,” he said in a statement today.

He added that particular attention will also be given to vehicle rental services, hotels and lodging facilities, petrol stations and other locations frequented by the public and tourists.
