TAWAU, May 10 (Bernama) -- Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick joined over 1,000 participants this morning in the five-kilometre “Fun Run & Fun Ride” event held in conjunction with the 2025 MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR 2025).
The Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Ministry’s assistant secretary, Nur Ainnayati Sallehuddin, said the event was initially limited to 1,000 participants, but due to overwhelming interest, they decided to open it up to more people.
Speaking to reporters at the event, she said about 30 cyclists participated.
Sabah PMR 2025 is a government initiative spearheaded by the Performance Acceleration and Coordination Unit (PACU), in collaboration with the ministry as the lead agency and the Sabah Government as the host, to bring essential government services directly to the people.
Themed “Ending Poverty Through Entrepreneurship”, the Sabah edition of PMR 2025 underscores the government’s sustainable approach to eradicating hardcore poverty by empowering local communities through entrepreneurship, anchored in the core values of the Malaysia MADANI framework, namely sustainability, prosperity, innovation, respect, trust and compassion.
This initiative brings together federal ministries, state agencies and grassroots entrepreneurs to deliver services and opportunities to the community.
