PARENTS URGED TO REMIND CHILDREN TO REGISTER FOR PLKN 3.0

KUALA LIPIS, May 12 (Bernama) -- Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari called on parents to remind their children to promptly register for the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 Series 2/2025.

“Our target is to have around 550 trainees for this PLKN intake, with 350 males and 200 females. But as of yesterday, only 206 male and 138 female trainees have registered,” he said.

“I urge not just the trainees, but their families as well, to take responsibility in ensuring the success of this programme,” he said during a welfare visit and engagement with Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) veterans under the Peduli Veteran Madani programme at Kampung Bapong, Pahang, earlier today.

During the two-day programme, Adly is scheduled to meet with 14 MAF veterans in Raub and another 16 in Kuala Lipis, two of whom are entrepreneurs.

He also presented the Pingat Jasa Malaysia (PJM) to three widows, in honour of their late husbands, and presented business equipment to veteran entrepreneurs.

Commenting further, Adly said selected trainees who have yet to report for duty still have the opportunity to do so at their assigned camps until May 16.

“We urge those who have been selected to complete their registration, as this initiative plays an important role in equipping the younger generation with essential training.

“PLKN is crucial in building character and instilling a sense of duty and responsibility towards the nation,” he emphasised.

Adly added that while some individuals have volunteered to join the programme, priority is given to those already selected before any replacements are considered.
