CAMBODIA

1. NATION’S TALLEST BRIDGE OPENS FOR PUBLIC -- FRESH NEWS 

Cambodia’s tallest bridge has been fully completed and is open to the public. Bridge No. 28, across the Russey Chrum River, is 90 metres high, 537 metres long, and 10 metres wide.

 

2. CAMBODIA-THAILAND COOPERATE ON WATER MANAGEMENT -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to draft a Memorandum of Understanding on transboundary water resources management. Both countries want to strengthen cooperation on transboundary water governance through knowledge sharing, technical collaboration and policy coordination.

1. INDONESIA REOPENS SALT IMPORTS AS INDUSTRIES FACE RAW MATERIAL SHORTAGE -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Indonesia has officially reopened salt imports after mounting pressure from domestic industries unable to secure enough raw materials, according to Chief Food Affairs Minister Zulkifli Hasan.

The Thilawa (Thanlyin) and Thakayta LNG-fired power plants in the Yangon Region will soon resume operations. Once these LNG-fired power plants function again, electricity distribution to industrial zones in the Yangon and Mandalay Regions will be given top priority.

Thai police have issued arrest warrants for seventeen individuals in connection with the fatal collapse of the State Audit Office (SAO) building in Bangkok.

 

2. VIETNAM TRADE SET TO HIT $25BN -- BANGKOK POST

Thailand and Vietnam have agreed to promote economic links and work together to boost bilateral trade to US$25 billion (833 billion baht) a year in the near future, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra said.

1. SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS AT HYDROPOWER TRAGEDY -- VIETNAM NEWS

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has directed search and rescue operations following a landslide at the construction site of a hydropower plant in Lai Châu Province yesterday. Five people died and four others were injured in the disaster.

 

2. TRUMP-LINKED URBAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT APPROVED -- VIETNAM NEWS

Vietnam has approved a RM6.44 billion (US$1.5 billion) joint venture between Hưng Yên Investment and Development Group and IDG Capital, representing the Trump Organisation. The project will involve a mega urban and eco-tourism complex.
