CAMBODIA

 

1.CAMBODIA-AUSTRALIA MARITIME COOPERATION -- AGENCE KAMPUCHEA PRESSE

The Royal Australian Navy warship HMAS Ballarat carrying 192 crew members, arrived at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on Friday. The frigate is on a four-day goodwill visit to strengthen naval cooperation between Cambodia and Australia.

 

2.CAMBODIA-US ADVANCE TRADE TALKS -- FRESH NEWS

Cambodia and the United States (US) continued their bilateral trade talks. The US revised the reciprocal tariff rates to 19 per cent on August 1, after initially imposing a 49 per cent levy on goods imported from Cambodia.

1.PURBAYA SAYS HIGH-SPEED RAIL DEBT TO CHINA IS DANANTARA’S RESPONSIBILITY -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa indicated on Thursday that the Indonesian government will not assume responsibility for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project’s debt to China, saying the obligation rests with the country’s sovereign wealth fund, Danantara.

 

2.INDONESIA HAILS GAZA CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT -- THE JAKARTA POST

Indonesia has welcomed the first phase of the ceasefire and what it calls “the permanent end of hostilities” in Gaza, amid reports of Israeli troop withdrawals from the war-torn Palestinian territory on Friday as the truce between Israel and Hamas took hold.

1.MYANMAR, VIETNAM PROMOTE TRADE VIE EXPO -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The Myanmar-Vietnam Expo 2025 is being held at the Yangon Convention Centre from October 10 to 12 to promote bilateral trade between the two countries. About 120 booths are exhibiting over 100 products from Myanmar and Vietnam.

 

2.DALA BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

A ceremony to connect the South Korea-Myanmar Friendship Bridge, or the Dala Bridge, was held yesterday. The four-lane cable bridge connecting Lanmadaw and Dala townships will help ease the traffic congestion in Yangon City.
