KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd will implement the final phase of its booking app consolidation on Nov 15, completing the migration to a single platform, Rapid On-Demand.
In a statement, Rapid Bus said this step involves closing the final phase for zones that previously used the Kummute app, consolidating all service zones under one digital platform.
“This consolidation replaces three separate apps - Mobi, Trek Rides, and Kummute, making the booking process simpler, more consistent, and user-friendly,” the statement said.
Acting chief executive officer Ku Jamil Zakaria said this phase completes the gradual digital transformation of Rapid KL On-Demand services, which began in June 2025.
“With all zones fully integrated into the Rapid On-Demand app, users can now book trips conveniently without switching between apps, providing a smoother and more consistent travel experience across the Klang Valley,” he said.
He added that the consolidation also strengthens connectivity and accessibility of the urban public transport system, supporting Rapid Bus’ vision for smart and inclusive mobility.
The final phase involves merging and expanding several zones, including the extension of Sri Rampai/Ulu Klang Station to Taman Melawati, Taman Medan to Sunway, and Taman Bahagia Station to SS7.
Merged zones include Putrajaya Sentral Station to Precinct 1, Putrajaya Sentral Station to Cybersouth/Dengkil, and Sungai Way to Taman Paramount Station.
Rapid Bus said users now only need the Rapid On-Demand app, which is available for free on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The RM1 fare promotion continues for every journey, with payment options including Touch ‘n Go card, DuitNow, debit or credit card, e-Wallet, and concession passes such as MyRapid: Rapid Mesra (formerly OKU Smile) and Rapid Pelajar (formerly MyRapid Pelajar).
