KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama)’s “The Goldfinger” team emerged champions in the mainstream media and influencers category at the Malakoff Amazing Hunt 2025, a sustainability-focused treasure hunt held at Taman Botani here on Saturday as part of Malakoff’s 50th anniversary celebration.

According to a statement from Malakoff Corporation Berhad, the third edition of the event brought together 64 participants across 16 teams, comprising representatives from government agencies, key stakeholders, media organisations and the social media community.

Conducted entirely on foot, the hunt featured sustainability-themed activities such as upcycling, green seedling challenges and other eco-focused tasks, with checkpoints designed to highlight Malakoff’s sustainability milestones over its five decades of operations.

Malakoff Group Chief Executive Officer Syahrunizam Samsudin said the Amazing Hunt was a meaningful way to commemorate the company’s 50-year journey while strengthening ties with stakeholders.

“The Malakoff Amazing Hunt 2025 reflects our sustainability journey and reinforces the importance of adopting sustainable practices in our daily lives – a message that aligns with our purpose of ‘Enhancing Life, Enriching Communities’,” he said.

“It is also an opportunity for us to strengthen relationships with our stakeholders and build a shared commitment towards a more sustainable future. By involving both mainstream and social media communities, we can reach a wider audience and inspire collective action for a greener tomorrow,” he said.

The Boss Baby team from the New Straits Times (NST) emerged first runner-up in the mainstream media and influencers category, while Team Inderaloka from TV3 placed third.

In the stakeholders category, Team JKAS from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) took the top spot, followed by Team PPJ2 and Team PPJ1 from Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj).

The event was flagged off by Malakoff’s People Division Head, Hairuzzaman Sagi, and Alam Flora Sdn Bhd Chief Operating Officer, Mohamad Muhazni Mukhtar, before participants undertook a series of sustainability-driven challenges across multiple checkpoints.

Mohamad Muhazni later presented prizes and mock cheques totalling RM13,600 to the winners.

Among the participating agencies were the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), Unit Kerjasama Awam Swasta (UKAS) and Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp), alongside influencers and content creators who helped amplify messages on sustainable living.

Malakoff said the Amazing Hunt served as a reminder that small everyday actions can contribute meaningfully towards reducing carbon emissions and advancing its commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050.
