GRS CANDIDATE AMIRSHAH DETERMINED TO RESOLVE WATER ISSUES IN SUNGAI SIBUGA

26/11/2025 06:04 PM

SANDAKAN, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) candidate for the Sungai Sibuga seat, Datuk Amirshah Yaakub, is determined to resolve the water supply issues in the constituency if given the mandate in the 17th Sabah state election.

He said the issue is currently being addressed, including the replacement of old pipes in Kampung Tinusa 2 to ensure residents in the waterfront village enjoy a more stable water supply.

“So far, 45 per cent of the pipes in Kampung Tinusa 2 have been replaced and the project will continue. An allocation of RM3 million by the government has also been approved to build better access to the village.

“If given the mandate in this election, I will strive to ensure that the people’s issues in Sungai Sibuga are resolved as best as possible,” he told Bernama.

Amirshah said that in addition to water supply, priorities also include electricity and road issues, as well as the construction of Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) houses and financial aid for students, which will continue if he is elected as a representative.

“I believe voters need to choose a leader who can bring development and political stability.

“We need a stable government to ensure Sabah’s economy continues to grow, while also opening up more development opportunities in areas that have long been marginalised,” he said.

Polling day for the 17th Sabah state election, with 73 seats up for grabs, will be held this Saturday.
