CONTINUOUS RAIN WARNING AT DANGER, SEVERE LEVELS IN EAST COAST, JOHOR UNTIL TOMORROW

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 17 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain warning ranging from danger to alert levels, expected to affect several states from today until tomorrow.

MetMalaysia director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said in a statement that the danger-level warning, issued at 8.45 am, involves Pahang, specifically Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin.

He said a severe-level continuous rain warning is also forecast for Pahang (Jerantut, Maran and Bera), Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman) and Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi).

Meanwhile, a moderate-level (alert) warning is expected to affect Kelantan; Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu and Marang); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong and Temerloh); and Selangor.

The moderate-level warning also covers Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru).

The public is advised to obtain the latest weather updates via the official MetMalaysia website, the myCuaca mobile application, MetMalaysia’s official social media platforms, or by contacting the MetMalaysia hotline at 1-300-22-1638.
