GAMUDA WINS TWO MORE AUSTRALIAN PROJECTS, BRINGING ORDER BOOK TO A RECORD RM46 BLN

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Gamuda Bhd has bagged two more contracts in Australia through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, bringing the group's order book to a new record high of RM46 billion.

In a statement, the group said Gamuda Engineering has been appointed to develop the A$2.7 billion (about RM7.32 billion) Sydney Metro West-Stations Package West.

“The Sydney Metro West-Stations Package West includes the design and construction of five metro stations along the Sydney Metro West alignment: Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock and The Bays.

“The package scope also includes the construction of the station structure, entrances and access points, station fit-out, associated infrastructure, and transport integration,” it said.

The contract marks Gamuda’s single largest project win to date in Australia and its second major Sydney Metro contract, following the 2022 award of the A$2.16 billion (RM6.5 billion) Western Tunnelling Package.

Planning and detailed design are expected to begin in January 2026, with major construction starting in late 2026 or early 2027 for completion by 2031, the group said.

Additionally, Gamuda’s DT Infrastructure Pty Ltd has been awarded the balance of plant (BOP) contract for the Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm project in the mid north region of South Australia, valued at A$265 million (RM718 million).

On Wednesday, the group announced that Marinus Link Pty Ltd has awarded the Marinus Link Stage 1 - balance of works (BOW) contract to TasVic Greenlink, a 50-50 joint venture (JV) between DT Infrastructure and Samsung C&T Corporation.

Gamuda said the two new projects will further strengthen its growing energy generation capacity in Australia, which currently includes the 585 megawatt peak (MWp) Goulburn River Solar Farm and the 228 MW Boulder Creek Wind Farm.

“The Marinus Link project is a proposed undersea and underground electricity and data interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria that will bolster energy security, promote renewable energy investment and deliver tangible benefits to consumers in Australia’s National Electricity Market.

“Both the Marinus Link Stage 1 and Carmody’s Hill Wind Farm projects are slated to commence in early 2026, with contract durations of five years and 28 months, respectively,” it added.
