BANGKOK STREET FOOD

The street food in Thailand’s capital city is not only well-known by its residents but renowned worldwide, having been featured in many travel magazines in the past and documented in various videos by tourists and social media influencers.

The city’s streets are lined with an assortment of stalls offering various street fare, from the hand pounded som tam, the instantly-fried pad krapao and the thick rich soup of the boat noodles.

Visitors to the Games, especially sportswrtiers, have been spoilt for choice - and this is not a mere boast - dining on delectable mango sticky rice in the day and enjoying squid freshly grilled by the roadside in the evenings.

The roadside dining experience is memorable not only because of the delicious street food but the varied company of the people from various cultures and countries.

SPORTS UNDER OVERHEAD BRIDGES

In Bangkok, there are several areas under overhead bridges and highways, including in Bangchak and Si Rat Highway, that have been modified to become sports and recreational hubs for local communities.

Nestled in the urban landscape, these areas are vital in offering sanctuaries for sports and social activities. 

The sports facilities available include courts for futsal, sepak takraw, basketball as well as jogging tracks.

STEPPING INTO EUROPE...

It never gets old… visitors to the Suvarnabhumi Campus of Assumption University here would be forgiven if they felt that they were transported to Europe everytime they entered the campus.

The campus, which is hosting the diving event for the ongoing 2025 SEA Games, is renowned for its European-inspired architecture.

A combination of Western aesthetics and tropical rainforest, the campus is not only pleasing to the eye, but has evolved into a destination filled with Instagramable locations.
