UniSZA vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Fadzli Adam said the collaboration is expected to foster productive, systematic and sustainable networks between the university and external agencies, ultimately benefiting the community and the nation.

“The collaboration with MSNT and TPCT is comprehensive and covers various areas, including industrial training placements, as well as the provision of physiotherapy and rehabilitation services to athletes under the supervision of MSNT and TPCT through the National Sports Institute (ISN) Satellite Centre at UniSZA.

“It also involves the provision of professional advisory and consultancy services in the fields of health sciences, sports science and athlete development,” he said at the MoU signing ceremony here today.

Fadzli signed the MoU on behalf of UniSZA, while MSNT was represented by its director,  Ahmad Shahrizal Yahaya and TPCT by its chief executive officer, Che Ku Mohd Izmuddin Che Ku Mahmood.

Present as witness was State Youth, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisation Development Committee Hishamuddin Abdul Karim,

Meanwhile, Hishamuddin said the collaboration not only strengthens the role of academic institutions in sports development but also creates greater opportunities for research, enhances athlete performance and expands sports science expertise in the state.

“We have long believed that sports development can no longer rely solely on talent, but must be supported by scientific approaches, evidence-based research and multidisciplinary expertise.

“In this regard, the involvement of higher learning institutions such as UniSZA is crucial in building a high-performance sports ecosystem, particularly in sports science, athlete health and holistic youth talent development,” he said.
