PUTRAJAYA, Jan 5 (Bernama) -- The Public Service Department (PSD) is committed to enhancing the quality of public service delivery to make it faster, more efficient and more people-oriented, said its director-general Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz.

He said the commitment was aligned with the direction outlined in the 2026 New Year Message delivered by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.

He said the Prime Minister’s 2026 New Year Message provided clear guidance to the public service as the main catalyst in realising the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.

“In line with the implementation of the civil servants’ salary adjustment and the government’s digitalisation agenda, the PSD remains committed to improving the quality of service delivery to be faster, more efficient and people-oriented,” he said when contacted today.

At the same time, Wan Ahmad Dahlan said the department also reiterated its commitment to ensuring that every government policy is implemented effectively for the well-being of the people.

He said the PSD also fully supports the emphasis on institutional reform, integrity and governance anchored on transparency and accountability.

Earlier, Anwar, in his New Year Message, said that the implementation of digital systems would be intensified to enhance the quality of public services.

He also announced that four Bills would be tabled in Parliament this year, reflecting the direction of institutional reform under the MADANI Government.

The four key Bills to be tabled this year cover limiting the prime minister’s tenure to 10 years or two full terms, the separation of the roles of the Attorney General and Public Prosecutor, the establishment of an Ombudsman, and freedom of information (FOI).
