PUTRAJAYA, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- End-to-end (E2E) online delivery of government services reached 80 per cent as of last year, the Digital Ministry said in a statement today.
The ministry attributed the achievement to continuous monitoring by the National Digital Department (JDN), which ensures efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with established digitalisation standards across all government agencies.
It said the government aims to have 95 per cent of federal government services delivered online by 2030.
“In addition, the government targets 100 per cent digitalisation of federal data through a Whole-of-Government approach, as a strategic measure to strengthen national digital transformation and enhance service efficiency and quality for the public,” the statement added.
The ministry also noted that JDN is preparing the 2026–2030 Public Sector Digitalisation Plan, expected to be completed by mid-month, to accelerate digitalisation efforts at both state government and local authority levels.
“This includes upgrading existing systems, promoting the adoption of new technologies, developing digital talent, and enhancing strategic collaboration between agencies to ensure the public sector’s digital transformation is comprehensive, integrated, and impactful for the public,” the statement said.
The ministry highlighted the expanded use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the public sector through the AI@Work initiative, adding that as of Dec last year, 373,346 public servants were actively using AI, resulting in improved productivity and service quality.
“These efforts will continue this year, in line with the government’s digital transformation agenda and paperless service initiatives, to ensure AI contributes to higher performance, productivity, and service standards for the public,” read the statement.
The Digital Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to advancing public sector digitalisation and AI adoption, in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s call for digital transformation to deliver direct benefits to the public and enhance Malaysia’s global competitiveness.
In his New Year’s address at the monthly Prime Minister’s Department assembly yesterday, the Prime Minister urged all ministries and government departments to expedite online service delivery as part of bureaucratic reforms.
He emphasised that the move should be implemented immediately to save time, improve service quality, and reduce administrative burdens on the public.
