MAYBANK MARATHON 2026 SET FOR AUG 23 IN BALI

JAKARTA, Jan 8 (Bernama) -- Indonesia’s first World Athletics Elite Label Road Race, the Maybank Marathon, will return this year for its 15th edition on August 23 at the Bali United Training Centre, Gianyar, Bali.

Maybank Indonesia president director Steffano Ridwan said the Maybank Marathon contributes to international-standard sports tourism, generating economic and social benefits for the host region, while showcasing the beauty of Bali to both domestic and international runners.

He said that the strategic collaboration with Visa, as the title sponsor of the Maybank Marathon 2026, further strengthens the value and impact of the event.

“Through our collaboration with Visa as title sponsor, we aim to create a running journey that generates a positive impact for participants, communities and the environment,” he said at the launch ceremony on Thursday.

Maybank Marathon 2026 offers Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.1 km) and the 10K categories, as well as Wheelchair and Children Sprint categories, with total prize money exceeding 3 billion Rupiah (1 Mln Rupiah = RM 241.5). 

 Maybank Indonesia will also launch an exclusive pre-sale running slot programme for the Maybank Marathon, offering guaranteed slots to existing customers and to new customers who participate in savings programmes and apply for Maybank credit cards in collaboration with Visa, with the offer for new customers running from Jan 9 to 30.

Participants in this programme will receive guaranteed running slots for Maybank Marathon 2026 prior to the public registration period, which will be open from Feb 9 to 22, through a drawing system on the website www.maybankmarathon.com.

Race pack collection will be held from Aug 21 to 22 at the Bali United Training Centre.

Maybank Indonesia will host a series of “Road to Maybank Marathon 2026” events in several major cities across Indonesia from April to August as part of preparations for the event.

In 2020, Maybank Marathon became Indonesia's first and only “Elite Label” marathon event, acknowledged by the World Athletics and is included as one of World Athletics' marathon events.
