KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- A total of 3,383 flood victims are still being housed in temporary relief centres (PPS) in Sarawak and Sabah as of this evening, with both states recording a decrease in the number of victims.
In SARAWAK, the number of victims has decreased slightly to 3,019 from 888 families compared to 3,031 from 876 families this morning.
According to the Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN), all victims are accommodated in 40 PPS, namely Serian (23), one PPS each in Kuching, Simunjan, Gedong, Sibu and Mukah; Bintulu, (two), Miri (three), Balai Ringin (three), and four in Samarahan.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) yesterday issued a continuous rain warning at alert level for several areas in Sarawak until today.
In SABAH, flood victims showed a downward trend when 364 victims from 136 families were recorded compared to 462 people from 157 families this morning.
The Sabah JPBN secretariat informed that two PPS in Beaufort are still operating, namely the Dewan Selagon Permanent Evacuation Centre and Dewan Sri Dayang Shahbandar Padas Damit.
