800 STUDENTS IN INDERA MAHKOTA RECEIVE SCHOOL SUPPLIES THROUGH 'JOM KE SEKOLAH' PROGRAMME

KUANTAN, Jan 12 (Bernama) -- A total of 800 students received sets of school supplies worth a total of RM160,000 through the 2026 Indera Mahkota Parliamentary "Jom Ke Sekolah" (Back to School) Programme.

Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, said that this initiative benefited recipients ranging from Standard 1 to Form 5 students among the asnaf (tithe recipients), the destitute, and low-income families.

“As a start, last Saturday, I along with the Indera Mahkota MADANI Community Center team organised the 2026 Indera Mahkota Parliamentary 'Jom Ke Sekolah' Programme at Dewan Atabara, Kuantan.

“This programme is seen not only as a way to ease the burden on parents making early school preparations but also as a proactive step in strengthening educational access and reducing the risk of school dropouts, specifically in Indera Mahkota and generally across Pahang,” he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to the parents who attended with full commitment and support, including those willing to arrive early in the morning to enliven the programme, which was implemented through strategic collaboration with Yayasan Bank Rakyat, Yayasan Taqwa-MAIWP, and the Aminuddin Baki National School Alumni Association.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Farhan stated that these efforts do not stop in Indera Mahkota alone but will be expanded to all Parliamentary constituencies in the state of Pahang. It involves an allocation of 100 school supply set vouchers for each constituency, bringing the total contribution at the state level to RM150,000.

He added that this comprehensive approach reflects the aspiration to ensure no child in Pahang drops out of school simply because of financial constraints.
