ISKANDAR PUTERI, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- Johor Darul Ta’zim head coach Xisco Munoz praised his team’s resilience after they came from behind to beat Kuching City FC 2-1 in a Super League match at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium here last night.
He said the players showed composure and determination despite being reduced to 10 men after Natxo Insa was sent off in the 55th minute.
Speaking to reporters after the match, he said the team responded well after conceding in the first half and continued to create scoring chances.
He said tactical adjustments at halftime helped JDT improve their performance and convert chances into goals, adding that the players stayed focused in difficult situations and reacted positively in the second half.
JDT’s goals were scored by Ignacio Mendez (58th minute) and Bergson da Silva (64th minute) after Scott Woods had given Kuching City FC an early lead in the 41st minute.
Meanwhile, Kuching City FC head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak praised his players for their effort and discipline despite the defeat.
He said the team put up a good fight, adding that with new players joining, Kuching City FC will continue to improve and remain competitive in the league.
