HAMILTON (Canada), Jan 17  (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The UN said at least one in four Venezuelans requires humanitarian assistance, reported Anadolu Ajansi.

Citing the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), UN spokesperson Farhan Haq said at a news conference on Friday that the UN and its "partners continue to deliver aid across the country. This includes food, school meals, health care and psychosocial support. "

"We also continue to coordinate with authorities, monitor humanitarian needs nationwide and inform people about the humanitarian services available to them," he added.

He noted that many families in Venezuela are without "reliable support," and called on donors to support efforts to provide "life-saving aid" and said this year's response plan outlining humanitarian needs called for "just over US$600 million."

"In 2025, the response plan was only 17 per cent funded, one of the lowest globally," he added.
